beach. sister. cards: these are a few of my favorite things.
I like cards a lot.
Especially ones that are perfectly square, not necessarily rectangular. Though, I would never turn a rectangular card away. But there’s just something about the symmetry of a square that makes me happy.
And then when you add some good words on top of a square card?
Well, it’s real, REAL nice.
Like this one.

I saw it today and I had to read it again and again. And then, well, I already believed it, I think, but I started to believe it a little more.
And something else I like are photo shoots with my sister.
Her name is Jenna Veronica but at some point, my brother Jonathan and I gave her the nickname of Jarna Vern and it got enough of a reaction that it stuck. I guess after years of still being called that, Jenna has finally stopped fighting it and now she just goes with it.
And look at her with her yellow sun glasses.

In case you were wondering, I approve. Very much so.
And I think Jenna was maybe my biggest fan during A Chorus Line. Because that crazy girl saw the show at least five times. If that’s not love, I’m not sure what is.

And today we, along with some other members of our fantastic family, went to the beach.
And it was warm in the car and even on the boardwalk.
But not so much on the actual beach.
So we mostly lay like this,
talking about how it’d be nice if the wind would dial it down a bit.
And then we laughed, because how annoying to tell the wind to dial it down?
And we did a good job of pretending that we were warm enough.

But there’s a difference between being truly warm and being warm enough.
If you’d like to know the difference, just go on down to the Delaware beaches in the beginning of April.
But try to go with a few people you love, it’s better that way.

And try not to bite them.

But if you absolutely have to–and I understand if you do–try to bite in such a way that it doesn’t actually hurt.

Well huh, I’m jealous!! I hope you played Beast Wars.
haha not this time! we’re saving the revival of THAT game for when you’re here this summer. And oh yeah, I think we should all play that mean prank on Jenna again–you know, jase, the one that you so cruelly masterminded and made me and jonathan carry out on your behalf…
I shall assume you are joking because you know I had nothing to do with that atrocity.
yeah, that was a HORRIBLE prank; it was a lot funnier in our minds, I think. And I know, you can only pin it on me and Jonathan!
Nice pics. April heatwave is probably tempting many to some rash behavior like hitting the beach.
Why do you have a wry face ( :\ )on your forehead in the first pic?
I think you might be referring to that little strip of sunlight across my forehead…and it does look rather odd, huh??
I enhanced it so you could see the little face I saw:
little face
She doesn’t look too happy about going to the beach.
haha, peaj!
I really like that Louis L’Amour quote…I may have to add that to my quote collection.
I know; I love finding new quotes that I love:)
Nice pics! Nothing like sister love!
yep. pretty incomparable.
i love this!!! what great pics and i love that card!!!!! good one:) did you buy it? im so glad you guys have each other for sisters!!!!
you know, I didn’t buy it. Sometimes I do because I want to send it to a special person, but this time I just took the pic of it so that I’d be able to remember the sentiment.
So cool! Glad you guys had a great trip!
thanks, Christian! I am too–and the next time it’ll be even more perfect cause the beach will be warm!
AWWE Jenna!!!!! You two are the cutest sisters ever!
thanks, JR! (high-five, Jenna!)
Jenna don’t let her bite you!
Jenna, don’t let him tell you what to do!!!
don’t worry i bit her and turned her into a vampire right after this picture was taken.
And now I’m hot like rob pattinson, thanks jarna!!!
LOVE the card. That is a great quote!
I know. It really struck me because I think it truly applies right now.
