it’s not nearly as bad as it looks.
Now, they knew this would happen.
So don’t feel too sorry for them.
Cause see, as soon as they lay prostrate on the ground outside of this restaurant, I grabbed my camera.
And Darby called it. She said, You know what this means, pop; we’re going on the blog.
But at the moment she was too cold to care. We had been tubing down the Brandywine River and then got a bite to eat. And it was a classic case of Somebody Needs to Learn Something About Moderation when it came to the air conditioning, because it felt like a meat locker in there.
And so that, my friends is what happened.
Darby saw how very warm the pavement was and just went for it. She laid down like it wasn’t pavement at all; like it was a bed and this was perfectly normal, so move on, people, nothing to see here.
And pop followed suit.
And I took a picture because, well–that’s obvious.
And I love it when people break protocolĀ in a not at all rude kind of way. I love it when someone is cold and so they get warm, even if it’s rather…unconventional.
Which is why I say good job, Darby and Pop! You better get warm; you better work.

Ha Ha Ha……plop: laughing my head off! Since Jase, Sunshine, and I were in the VERY COLD restaurant paying the bill, we didn’t know about this! Just as well…….I might have been embarrassed and spoiled the fun!
yep, isn’t it so funny?! and just think, you never would have known what was really going on, had I not thought to document it for posterity.
You’re welcome.
I had no idea this was going on out there! It’s hilarious – like a lizard on a heat rock!
I know! It kind of looks like they both lost a dual or something! ha!
i love this..so cute!!!!!!!!!
they are each such individuals–love it too!!!
NICE!!! Did any other customers walk by them while they were there?!
haha–NICE!
and yes, I think so…I also seem to remember some…uh…relatives…walking as far away as possible out of embarrassment…
I so love this post Jess, it has made me smile on a day, when I really didn’t feel like smiling. Sometimes simple things get ya, thanks for posting my friend! FYI, I love your dad, and DARBY, they ROCK!
Oh JR–I know those days and I am glad to help bring a smile your way. You deserve it–and truly, your powers of perception are quite good cause yes–they both do ROCK!!
It kind of looks like an album cover for a one hit wonder duo from the late nineties, too. Pop ‘N Fresh Darb.
hahahahaha perhaps it is not too late??
this is why they are two of my favorite people.
ps. jess, you are one of my faves too
I think it takes a fave to know a fave, Bree!
