I got to spend some time with my friend Betsy today.
And, among other things, we did some of this.
But mostly we walked and talked and blended into Brooklyn quite nicely, I think.
I had the honor of being in Betsy’s wedding last October, as the Maid of Honor. And she was nice enough to tell all of the girls in her wedding to just go and pick a short brown dress to their liking.
Now, I think I may have a different idea of short than others, because look what happened.
Yes, that’s me in the background with a way shorter dress than all the other lovely ladies. Bets told me over and over again that she loved the dress and it didn’t matter that it was “just a little bit shorter than the others,” and I love her for that.
For saying that it was just a little bit shorter than the others, I mean.
(and isn’t she a beautiful bride? really, just stunning)
Oh, and I was walking in the subway today, and happened upon this:
And, well…
I just really don’t get it.
I mean, are they wanting to help you stay a virgin? Or are they wanting to help you not be a virgin any longer? And what would their methods for accomplishing either goal be?
Either way, it’s kind of funny.
And really inappropriate.
And totally a legit advertisement in New York City.

i have so many reasons to love that city.. and yet time after time i discover new ways to love it. NYC is the ONLY place you’d find an ad that says that. Regardless of it’s *to do or not to do” message, it’s still fantastic in all the right and wrong ways.

That ad appears to be a movie about some teenage guys trying to lose their virginity. It’s good advertising for a crappy movie.

Good to know it’s just a movie! I was in downtown Chicago and this stopped me dead in my tracks…it didn’t help that I was in front of a parking garage exit so I quickly collected my shock and kept going. Craziness.
I walked by it on the way to Penn Station, glanced at it while I was doing so, and then had to do an about face and go make sure that’s really what it said.
So yes, I hear you!

That ad about virginity, I almost want to call it, because I’m so curious! I have seen on it around the city as well…..hmmmmm????

Um. I think that, in general, being a virgin actually PREVENTS you from being a disease you don’t know about.
