Have you ever tried to use a vitamixer to grate carrots because you need three cups of them, but, upon seeing that it quickly purees them, you switch to grating those carrots? By hand. And then you get tired of that, so you find a very large and obliging knife and proceed to chop up the carrots into tiny, what-you-hope-is-grate-sized-pieces, but manage to send half of them flying all over the kitchen as you do? Cause apparently things just don’t want to stay put when you chop them. Who knew? And all that chopping and flying and chopping and flying only prolongs the process. Cause at this vitamix er grating I mean chopping rate, the cake might, might! just be ready by halloween.
But have you ever done that?
Oh, neither have I.
But if I had done it, it would have totally been worth it, cause the cake was pretty darn good.
And Jase, who always wants to improve upon every little thing, insisted on mixing some nestle cocoa powder into the leftover cream cheese frosting (cause I wouldn’t give him any of the stuff we were using to actually ice the cake), and then had to talk about how very great it was.
It was just okay.
I like the original better, and I told him so. At which point he told me that he didn’t remember okaying any unsolicited opinions.
Though I didn’t remember needing his okay.

It’s not boring.
Life, I mean; it really never is.
Not when you walk into your kitchen to find this little guy.

And he thinks he’s in a corner. Just in a corner. Like, end-of-story, in a corner. But what he doesn’t yet realize is that the door is right there, too. And that I’m about to open it up and then he’s about to go on and fly, little hummingbird; fly like you can!
I wonder what’s beyond my corner.
I think it’s every bit as beautiful as the blue sky.
I hope so, anyway.

Yep, that’s right, a new bloggety design. It was past time cause that green was even beginning to annoy me. And I happen to be a big fan of green. In the Great Change of ’09 I lost a few widgets and gadgets that I am currently trying to track down and get back, but [...]

Every once in a great while I stumble upon some wisdom. And when that happens, I try to record it here. You know, for posterity. So when you get the urge to cut your own bangs, first ask yourself these simple questions: Is it 2 am? If so, it might be for the best to [...]
