We did it. We finished it, I mean–Jonah and I. The Misery Index. One of Boysetsfire’s finest.

“You should put it on youtube,” Jonah told me.

“Oh gosh, how do I do that? How do I put a song on youtube, I mean?” I asked.

“Add a picture.”

“Well, it’s gonna be the one of you and me in the studio,” I told him, “THE WHOLE TIME.”

And it only took me an hour and a half to figure out how to do that (not everyone can go to UCLA for movie making, Jason).

But, you can listen. And for five whole minutes, you can stare at our picture. You’re welcome.

Bam.

Turns out I’m really good at making pretty boring movies with pretty rockin’ sound tracks.

a picture is worth a thousand words.

Or so they say. So I guess it’s really good I have this picture of me and Judah to post.

Since I am too tired to write anywhere close to a thousand words tonight.

But it’s a good kind of tired; an I’ve been working kind of tired.

There’s a lot of peace in this kind of tired.

grateful.

One fun thing about leggings is that they have no pockets. Okay, so that’s not like the most fun thing, but bear with me. Because see, since they have no pockets, that means that I hand my camera over to other people  to store in their pockets for the day. Thank God not all of [...]

Lately I have been more aware of my hand than ever. Specifically, my left hand. Even more specifically, the ring finger on my left hand. And how it’s totally bare. I was running tonight and felt it again. Poignantly. The way my hand is so light, the way there is no diamond on my ring [...]

It’s weird, I sort of already forgot about this. I mean, I know I haven’t really. And I know it happened and all that, but I’ve barely given it any thought at all. Not until I looked at this picture, actually. And how strange it is to not be going back to some city sometime [...]

I’ve got this husband. And when I got him, I also got a lot more musical instruments just strewn about.Which is fine with me, by the way. And our feet all seem to get along, which is a bonus. They even get along with paws. One of our favorite things to do is to write music [...]

Irritating is when you get home from your eighth show of the week and the most creative thing you can think to do in terms of resting is laying in your freshly made bed complete with newly changed linens, thanks to the lovely maids at your hotel. You lay down for maybe a half hour [...]

Summer time sand. In your hair. On your skin. Under your fingernails as you keep digging in. Might as well admit right now that Drew isn’t the only young man in my life. Might as well give you photographic proof. Cause here they are, Ollie, Eli, and Judah, managing to look cool despite holding their hands [...]
