have a…?

Oh shoot–my hair. It’s dark. Like, really dark.

See, I went to a salon. I told them to please try to match my roots, that I’m trying to go with a more natural color. And apparently they thought I was Snow White, cause now I basically have black hair. Oh well. At least I have hair. But now it’s just really dark, see?

But they told me it would fade and who really cares, it’s just hair.

Moving on.

I ran today. And then I went and took a class where they made us run. And I thought: Good thing I ran before I ran, rather sarcastically, and then I laughed. But then they made us start running backwards, so I had to put aside my sarcasm and concentrate because I saw the girl in front of me go down. Running backwards is no joke. That is why one should not think jokes while they do it.

Also, I gave someone I barely know a ride to the airport the other day. It was fine, we talked. And then I dropped her off at the terminal, and, right as she was leaving the car and right as I was closing the door, I yelled these parting words:

HAVE A FLIGHT!

Yes. That is what I said. Have a flight. I didn’t specify what kind of flight–nope, that would just be too predictable, I suppose. As I drove away, I repeated what I had just said and started laughing. And then I told some friends about my famous last words and, of course, we had to tell each other to HAVE A THANKSGIVING!

And then I told another friend about HAVE A FLIGHT! and asked him, “Isn’t that just the dumbest thing I’ve ever said?”

At which point he reminded me of something else I had said. “That was dumber,” he concluded.

Thanks, thanks so much.

And sometimes questions are rhetorical, you know.

I am kidding–and actually, he was right. Apparently, HAVE A FLIGHT! is not the dumbest thing I’ve ever said, as it turns out.

But I am pretty sure it’s up there.

on the road to blonde

I woke up today with one clear thought.

And lately I’ve been inundated with many many questions, so this divergence was a relief.
The thought?
Gonna go blonde.
And so I called up a nearby Aveda salon and asked when they could take me. One o’clock came quickly and I walked in with my dark hair.
You really wanna go blonde? the salon owner asked, With those eyes?

Yep, I said with determination, I need a change.

And more of a change than the five pounds I’ve lost in the last week.
Well I can’t guarantee that you will walk out of here platinum blonde today, he told me, But we can start.
And I appreciate a straight shooter.
Four and a half hours and a few varying shades of red later, this is how I walked out.
And I like it.
But it’s a two-part process. I am going back on Tuesday and we’re gonna make this hair blonde, darn it.
But for now it’s a change, and I’ll take it.
The owner also told me that he was wrong about my eyes; apparently they work with lighter hair also, is what he indicated.
Yep, I see just fine no matter what color my hair is.
